This bowl is made from a piece of amazing, spalted, figured, Bradford Pear. (Spalting is any form of wood coloration caused by fungi. Although primarily found in dead trees, spalting can also occur in living trees under stress.) It's measures 12 '' diameter x 3 1\4'' deep. The log used to make the bowl was rescued from beside the road in the Louisville, Kentucky.
It's foodsafe, and ready for your coffee or dinner table. Uses include serving salads, chips, popcorn, or mixed nuts. Also, it can be used as a centerpiece filled with fruit, or holiday decorations.
